Goodbye Emily & Brian

Our good friends Emily and Brian moved to Tacoma this past weekend.  Here are pictures from their baby shower the day before they left.  We were so sad to see them go!  We had known for over a year they would be moving but I secretly hoped it would never happen.  We watched almost every UT football game with them for the past 4 years and I just don't think the games will be the same without Emily's 7-layer dip.  We're already planning a trip to Washington this fall so we can meet Baby William.

Sayler - 9 Months

We went to Sayler's 9 month appointment today and luckily she didn't have to get any shots!  I had the Tylenol with me just in case.  Sayler is now 29 inches (92nd percentile) and 19 pounds, 6.5 ounces (60th percentile). The doctor told us we could start her on Puffs but she gagged when she tried them so we'll wait a few more weeks to try them again.  Some of you know that we discovered she is allergic to normal formula so she's been drinking one without any milk proteins.  The doctor advised us to let her try yogurt to see if she has outgrown the allergy.  Sayler isn't crawling yet but is still able to get around by lying on her back and doing the inch worm backwards to get to whatever is out of her reach.  We have also started rolling a ball to each other and she seems to really enjoy that.  Her Aunt Lexie taught her some new babbles which is really cute.  This is such a fun age!

Horseshoe Bay

Here's Sayler's first bath in a big tub without her baby tub (we didn't have room in the car for it).  She didn't seem to notice the difference.  She's happy as long as she has her toys.

Her swimsuit has bows with anchors on it!

We celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary while in Horseshoe Bay for a 4-day weekend with my family.  We stopped at a winery on our way to celebrate since we went to Napa/Sonoma for our honeymoon.  It was harder to try all of the wines while holding an 8-month-old but we still had a good time!  Sayler's favorite spot at the lake house was the deck.  She liked to lean over and look at the water.  We didn't let her get in the lake water but we brought her baby pool so she played in that in the front yard.
