Christmas Morning

Did Santa have some cookies and milk?

Helping Tripp open his present

Tripp thinks that's a real bottle

We had so much fun on Christmas morning!  Sayler loved opening presents and Tripp was happy playing with the bags and wrapping paper.  Santa brought Tripp his first tooth!!!

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve in Dallas and went to the Children's service at my family's church that night. I'd never been to a children's service before and it was so much fun.  It was constant singing and only lasted about 30 minutes which was the perfect amount of time to keep the kids entertained.  All of the kids got to decide if they wanted to be angels, shepherds or magi and dressed up in costumes the church provided.  When it was time for the angels to go to the front of the church Tracy walked down with her.  I thought she'd want him to stay up there with her but she ran on ahead, found a spot on the steps, and stayed up there by herself (this part lasted about 5 minutes).  This is the same altar that Tracy and I stood 5 1/2 years ago when we got married!  It was so sweet to now see our daughter up there.  Tripp was so good during the service and didn't make a peep.  Aunt Lexie held him the whole time and he loves singing so he was a happy baby.

After church we came home and put out cookies (dairy free) and milk (soy) for Santa.  We're excited for Christmas morning, especially since she understands so much more this year!  She has been carrying the Baby Jesus from the manger scene around my parents house for days.  He eats dinner with her, colors pictures, and is put to bed in Tripp's crib during nap time (when Tripp is not in there).

Sayler's Christmas Program

Happy when she walked in

Sayler's class and one of the older classes

With Ms. Jessica & Mrs. Robin.  We LOVE her teachers!

Sayler's Kids Day Out had their annual Christmas Program and Sayler's class dressed as presents this year.  I helped with the program so I was there early that morning and able to watch the dress rehearsal.  I hid so she couldn't see me and she did a great job.  I should have had my video camera with me for the rehearsal because she cried through part of the real thing.  We sat in the front row and as soon as she saw us when she walked in she started crying and cried on and off through the whole thing.  A lot of the kids on stage were crying.  It was sad and funny at the same time.  Some kids were so upset that their parents had to get them and let them sit in the audience.  By the end there were tons of empty spots on stage.  Sayler's teachers took turns holding her and she was fine.  She would cry and then get distracted and stop, but start up again when she saw us.  Next time I guess we'll have to sit where she can't see us.  After the program we had a Christmas party in her classroom.  She has a great group of kids in her class and I really like the other moms that I know in there.  It was sad to say goodbye to her teachers and friends since we won't see them for several weeks over the Christmas break.

Here's a picture from last year's Christmas program.    All but one of the kids was in her class again this year.  They've all gotten so big!

Caravanning to Bevo's ranch

Ward (Lexie's boyfriend) gave Sayler a ball and she kept throwing it into the front seat (annoying but funny)

KDO Fall Festival

Sayler is in the green dress trying to decide what to do next

Several weeks ago Sayler's school had their Fall Festival.  Tripp and I volunteered to help at one of the booths.  I saw Sayler come in with her class and she went around to some of the booths before she noticed me.  Of course she came running over and wanted to hang out with me and Tripp (who wouldn't???).  She loved the body painting (she got a flower on 1 arm and a butterfly on the other).  The ballpit was probably her favorite thing.  Her bow fell out while in there and when her teacher went to look for it, she found a shoe.  I'm sure there was a lot of stuff in Lost & Found that day.  Luckily we ended up finding the bow!

Tripp - 6 Months

Tripp had his 6 month check-up today and is 28 inches (90th percentile) and 19 pounds, 10 ounces (85th percentile). He's now in a higher percentile for height than weight!  He did great with his shots.  I put EMLA on his thighs where the shots are going to be given and it numbs the area so the shots aren't as painful.  He cried for about 5 seconds and then was good to go.  I started using it on Sayler for her shots and she doesn't cry near as long as she used to.  I read about this in a magazine right before Tripp was born and am SO glad we are now using it.
