Tripp - 2 Months

At the Zoo

2 Months Today!

We've been very busy since our last post.  Sayler has been going to Kids Day Out twice a week this month which has given me more time with Tripp and Sayler LOVES to go see her teachers and friends.  We've also gone to the zoo, walking at Memorial Park, and I've started running errands with both kids which isn't as bad as I thought it would be.  They are very entertaining in public.  Yesterday at Target I would hand things to Sayler for her to put in the basket (where Tripp was sleeping in his carseat) and she started throwing the things in without looking and luckily Tripp slept the whole time.  Other people in the aisle thought it was hysterical.  The kids keep us busy but are so much fun!

Tripp had his 2 month check-up last week and was 23 1/4 inches (60th percentile) and 14 pounds, 1 ounce (95th percentile!).  Sayler was 14 pounds at 4 months - there's already such a difference having a girl and a boy.

We met my parents, Lexie, and Ward in Austin last weekend and then my parents took Sayler back to Dallas with them for a few days so I could get some rest and spend some one on one time with Tripp.  I'm not sure who wore who out more, Sayler or my parents.  I received reports of Sayler taking 3 and 4 hour naps so I guess they wore her out.  Each morning she would kiss pictures of me & Tracy that my parents have on their refrigerator.  Her favorite activity in all of Dallas was riding up and down the escalator at NorthPark.  Guess she's a shopper at heart!

On Saturday we took Sayler & Tripp to Moody Gardens in Galveston.  We wanted to get the kids out of the house and it was too hot to do much outside.  Luckily most of Moody Gardens is air conditioned and it turned out to be a great day.  The Small's met us there with their girls and the 3 toddlers had a great time.  We started the day with a 3D movie which Sayler really got into when she had her 3D glasses on.  She would grab at the air because she thought butterflies were right in front of her.  She also screamed when a lizard ate 1 of the bugs and said "uh-oh" when another bug was in danger.  After the movie we visited the Aquarium Pyramid, Rainforest Pyramid, and Dinos Alive.  Sayler walked more than she rode in the stroller so she was really worn out by the end and slept 13 hours that night.

Here are some recent pics of Sayler & Tripp.  The weekend before July 4th we visited Tracy's family in Jasper and then met up with the Small's for the 4th.  Tripp is 6 weeks and awake a lot more than in those early weeks.  He has started smiling which is so fun!  Sayler likes to help with him.  She covers him up with blankets (sometimes over his face) and tries to pick him up (I stop her before she actually does).  She seems to love being a big sister!
