Sayler - 18 Months
At Sayler's 18 month appointment she was 32 inches (60th percentile) and weighed 23 pounds, 2 ounces (40th percentile). As many of you know she was officially diagnosed with a dairy allergy in December, so at this appointment last week Dr. Filak (our wonderful pediatrician) referred us to an allergist. We met with him this morning and he said there's a chance she can outgrow this allergy. We explained to him that she can tolerate small amounts of milk if they are cooked/baked in things (pancakes, birthday cake without icing, chicken nuggets). He said to keep trying those things with our Epi Pen ready, but not to let her have any dairy where the proteins aren't broken down (cow's milk, cheese, yogurt, etc.) We go back to him in December for more testing to see if the numbers have gone down. He said that the kids who outgrow this usually do so by age 4-5. We're keeping our fingers crossed! While this allergy makes deciding what to feed her more complicated and makes me worry a bit more, Tracy and I both feel that we are very blessed that she is healthy because it could be something much worse.

Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo 2011
Waiting on the platform for the Metro Rail.
Gathering eggs in the Hen House at Fun on the Farm
Posing with Daddy
At the Peach Orchard
Waiting for the Mutton Bustin' to start. She LOVED to watch the sheep and got so excited when they came out. She kept pointing at them and saying "dog."
We went to the Livestock Show & Rodeo with the Small's and the kids had so much fun. I was surprised at how much there was for kids to do! Other than the Mutton Bustin' Sayler loved Fun on the Farm which lets kids follow Farmer Joe from planting to market. Sayler gathered eggs, planted green peppers, picked peaches, and milked a cow (all fake).

Dallas Blooms at the Dallas Arboretum
Sayler, Sam and I visited my family in Dallas for a few days and we happened to be there during Dallas Blooms at the Arboretum. The flowers were beautiful and Sayler loved when we let her out of her stroller to inspect all of the flowers.

Day at the Zoo
The flamingos
See the lion in the background?
She loved the rhinos.
This baby giraffe was only 5 days old and was already over 6 feet tall when she stood up!
